My Story

Rob Stone of “The Rob + Holly Show” is the afternoon drive host along with Holly Hutton on Detroit's #1 for Country, 99.5 WYCD. Rob is a 2019 CMA nominee, a 2018 Academy of Country Music nominee and a 2016 Academy of Country Music Award winner in the category of "Major Market Personality of the Year". He also spends time outside of his day job working alongside the Detroit Lions as the in arena host, or as Rob likes to call it, "The Jumbotron Guy."

He is a huge music fan who loves performing, writing songs and is heavily involved in the music community from Detroit to Nashville. He is currently working on an EP and has opened for several national acts like, LOCASH, Austin Burke & Jameson Rodgers! Rob also holds a Bachelor's degree in Telecommunication, Information Studies and Media from Michigan State University. He is Michigan proud and loves staying close to family and friends. Being born in Detroit, raised in Almont and educated in East Lansing, Rob knows the importance of live and local.

One of the most rewarding parts of working in media for Rob is being able to give back. Being in radio and TV has introduced him to several causes that have become close to his heart, including; St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, The American Diabetes Association, The American Red Cross and countless others. He is so appreciative and grateful to be working a dream job and is always humbled to give back in any way he can.

Rob resides in a Metro-Detroit suburb called St. Clair Shores with his wife Katie. They have known each other since elementary school and love their rescue dog, Layla, who was adopted from a local rescue that was featured on Rob + Holly’s “Dog Gone Pet of the Week”! Rob and his wife welcomed their first child, Emmett Ryder, to the world on April 22nd 2019!
